It is not a way to turn a visit into a residence.

How do you read a result that has no total on it?
Read the type you selected and the documents that type usually needs. A tourist result should talk about a visit. A student result should talk about an institution. What can the calculator not see?
An overstay, a previous refusal, a passport that expires next month, or a name that does not match your tickets. It cannot see that your “business visit” is actually a plan to live and freelance. It cannot see that your “student” choice has no acceptance letter. Those facts decide the file more than the dropdown does.
It also cannot see a change in the rules that happened after the form was built. Recheck the authority when the trip is close. A calculator is a snapshot of questions, not a gazette.
How should different travellers use it?
A holiday traveller selects a tourist or visit type and a realistic number of days. A transit passenger does not select a residence. A family selects a type for each person, because a child’s passport can differ from a parent’s. A resident who only wants to know about time outside the UAE needs an absence check, not this visit-style form.
One passport per calculation. Mixed families need more than one pass.

What documents usually follow a tourist result?
A passport that meets the validity the authority wants, a photograph to the current specification, and the trip details the form asks for. Do not add papers nobody requested. Sending tourist hotel papers into a student file does not help either file.
Apply only after the type is stable. Changing type halfway means a new file, not an edit to a story you already told.

How do groups use it without mixing people up?
Run one person at a time. A parent with a passport that can enter more easily than a child must not copy the parent’s result onto the child. Write the name next to the result. If someone in the group needs a visa in advance and someone else does not, those are two applications, not one clever average. The calculator is there to force that split into the open.
Then match each result to a form. Do not let the easiest passport in the family become the template for the hardest.
