Why does your age decide between a Dubai and a Sharjah visa?
This is the least publicised part of the process for Nepali applicants, and getting it wrong wastes time. UAE visa rules for Nepali passport holders are strictly age-based when choosing between a Dubai visa and a Sharjah visa.
Under 40: apply for a Sharjah tourist visa. Dubai applications from Nepali citizens below 40 have a very high rejection rate.
40 and above: a Dubai tourist visa online is the most reliable and convenient option.
A Sharjah tourist visa is valid across all UAE emirates, including Dubai, so travelers under 40 can still visit and stay in Dubai. The emirate of issue affects approval, not where you spend your time.

How do you get the Police Clearance Certificate ready?
The PCC surprises most first-time applicants. Create an account on the Nepal Police website and request the report online. It takes five to seven days to generate. It then needs the “Per Rastra Mantralaya” (Home Ministry) stamp, the MOFA stamp, and the UAE Embassy stamp in Kathmandu. Start this two to three weeks before you plan to apply. What are the steps to apply from Nepal?
Choose the right visa type. Base it on age, purpose, and length of stay. Under 40, use the Sharjah route. Aged 40 or above, a Dubai tourist visa is appropriate.

How do extensions and A2A renewals work?
In-country extension: tourists can extend for 30 days, two times, for up to 60 extra days, without leaving the UAE.
Airport-to-Airport (A2A): fly from a UAE airport to a nearby country such as Oman or Bahrain, wait at the airport while the new 30-day or 60-day visa is processed, and return the same day.
Timing: apply three to five days before expiry. The extension must be submitted while your visa is still valid, so plan to extend visas in the UAE before they expire.
A short grace period has usually applied after expiry, but do not treat it as planned extra time. Overstay fines build up daily and must be cleared before you can leave.
