A Dubai visa for Moroccan residents in France is a tourist visa decided by the Moroccan passport, not by the French residence card in the same wallet. A ten-year resident card, a permanent permit, or a temporary titre de séjour shows that you may live in France. It does not admit you to the UAE. If the trip is a holiday, a family visit, or an event, you apply for a tourist approval before you fly.
Use it if you hold a Moroccan passport, you live in France, and you want a short stay in Dubai or another emirate. The same passport rule applies whether you live in Paris, Lyon, Marseille, or a smaller town. The page is about the tourist file. It is not a path to a job or to residence in the UAE.
Airlines and UAE immigration classify you by passport nationality. France is where the application is sent from. Morocco is the nationality on the booklet. Travellers who hold an EU passport can face a different entry rule. A Moroccan passport is in the group that needs a visa arranged before travel. Holding a French permit does not move you into the other group.
Carry the card anyway. The airline that brings you back to France may ask for it. Pack the card for the return. Pack the UAE visa PDF for the outbound flight.
It is a tourist stay. You choose a length that covers the tickets, and you enter on the approval that matches that length. The processing page lists the stays that can be requested. This article does not repeat that catalogue. Match the return date to the stay you request, and match the number of entries to the trips you will actually take. A side journey to another country in the middle of the holiday needs a visa that allows you to come back.
| Paper | Why it is in the file | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Moroccan passport | It is the travel document the visa is issued on | Validity well past the return, and a clear photo page |
| Photo | It identifies you on the application | Recent, plain background, face unobstructed |
| French residence permit | It shows you can return to France | Front and back, and an end date after the trip |
| Visa PDF | It is the UAE approval | Name, passport number, enter-by date, stay, entries |
In most ordinary holiday files the passport, the photo, and the French residence permit are the core. Send the permit’s front and back. If the permit is a card, photograph the whole card, not a corner. Sometimes the form also asks for a hotel booking or a flight reservation. Send those if they are asked. Do not add extra scans “to be safe” if they show a different name or an old passport.
Use the name order on the passport’s machine-readable line. A French spelling on a tax letter can differ. The visa must match the booklet you will carry on the day.
You apply online. There is no routine embassy appointment for this tourist file. You pick the stay that fits the dates, complete the form, upload the passport, the photo, and the residence permit, and submit one application. The approval, if it is granted, arrives as a PDF by email. You print it or save it offline. There is no sticker to collect before the flight.
The current total is on visa processing. This page does not list a figure, and the figure is not set by the city you live in inside France.
Check the passport number character by character. Check the surname and given names. Check the enter-by date against the outbound flight from France. Check the stay against the return. Check whether the visa is single entry or allows more than one entry. If any line is wrong, do not travel on it. Ask for a correction in the same file.
You can spend the stay on holiday, with family, at an event, or in short unpaid meetings. You can move between emirates on the same visa. Paid work is outside this visa. A tourist approval does not let you take a job, invoice clients in the UAE, or start residence steps by visiting a typing centre with an offer letter. If that is the plan, this is the wrong page.
Sometimes a tourist stay can be extended, and sometimes it cannot. The request has to be filed while the current visa is still valid. An extension is a new decision. It is not automatic because you live in France or because the first visa was approved quickly. If the extension is refused, you leave before the current stay ends. Overstaying creates a record that can affect the next application.
Apply on the passport you will fly with. Do not apply on the Moroccan passport and board on a different booklet. Do not expect a French passport, if you have one, to be assumed. Tell the form the passport you will present at the airline. If you naturalise and the trip is after you receive a French or other EU passport, the entry rule may change, and you should re-read the rule for that new passport before you reuse an old Moroccan visa file.
The usual delays are a cropped passport photo, a residence card that is cut off on one edge, a passport that expires too soon, and a name that does not match. A second application opened because the first has been quiet for a day can freeze both. Track the file you already submitted. If you are unsure which stay matches the tickets, shorten the trip or ask before you submit, rather than guessing a longer stay you will not use.
Carry the Moroccan passport, the visa PDF saved offline, the French residence permit, and the return booking. Airport Wi-Fi is a poor moment to search email. If the agent cannot see the visa, step aside and open the PDF from your phone’s storage. Do not ask the hotel to “confirm you are allowed to fly.” The visa is the document.
Confirm it on visa processing when you are ready to submit. Passport rules for British and Russian travellers are explained in Dubai Visa for UK / British Citizens: Who Gets Entry on Arrival and Who Must Apply and Dubai Visa for Russia: How the 90/180 Visa-Free Rule Works for Russian Citizens.
